DALLAS, TEXAS (YPPO) — The founder of Penthouse Magazine, Bob Guccione, died yesterday in a Texas hotel at the age of seventy nine after a long battle with cancer. The news was revealed yesterday in a statement from the family of the magazine founder. Penthouse Magazine was once dubbed the magazine of sex, politics, and protest. Guccione once told The New York Magazine that his magazine was the first to show full frontal nudity, and also added that HBO would not have gone so far if it wasn’t for them.

Reportedly, Guccione lost Penthouse Magazine back in two thousand and four in a bankruptcy sale. He said that it had been brought down by internet porn, but also added that there were massive tax problems. The magazine initially saw huge success and once had millions of readers. Many will agree that the sad passing of Bob Guccione will be a huge loss to the industry.

The founder of Penthouse Magazine had been battling with terminal cancer for a long time, and news of his death broke very soon after he passed away. However, it can be said for sure that his memory will carry on for many years to come, especially in relation to the huge success, and eventually the downfall of Penthouse Magazine. Funeral details have not yet been arranged, or released. However, it is likely to be a private affair for close ones to pay their final respects.
