THORNWOOD, NEW YORK (YPPO) — According to authorities, police shot and killed a Pace University varsity football player in the early hours of Sunday morning. It is reported that the football player was driving away to get away from a bar brawl and drove into two police officers. It is reported that Danroy Henry was shot by officers in the early hours of Sunday morning in Mount Pleasant. According to the police, Henry was at the wheel of the car with a passenger.
Police had fled to the scene to attend to the bar brawl which Henry was driving away from. Reportedly, a police man from Mount Pleasant had knocked on the window of the driver’s side of the car, when Henry put his foot on the accelerator, knocking down a police man. Reports also say that the cop that was hit with the car was clinging to the hood of the car whilst Henry still had his foot on the accelerator, and the cop then fired a shot at the driver.
As the vehicle continued to accelerate another police officer was hit by the car, and also fired a shot at the vehicle. Finally, the vehicle halted to a stop when it crashed into a Mount Pleasant police car. Henry was pronounced dead at hospital, and the passenger in the car only had minor gunshot injuries which he was treated for in hospital after the car came to a stop.
