Mukesh Ambani India’s Richest Man: $630 Million Home
MUMBIA, INDIA (YPPO) — The richest man in India, Mukesh Ambani, has moved into a home that cost him a reported $630 million. They moved into a building that is named Antilia, after a mythical island in Indian folklore. The building has a health club complete with a gym, dance studio, a ballroom and a 50 seat cinema. They even have a garden with ceiling space to accommodate small trees.
The roof has three different helicopter pads and underground parking for more than 160 cars. This will be where guests will be able to park during his upcoming housewarming party. At the top floor there is a great view of both Mumbai and of the Arabian Sea.
At 53 years old, Ambani is the richest man in India and is the fourth richest person in the world. His house now has 37,000 square meters of space, which makes it larger than the Palace of Versailles. To keep it running, he will require 600 staff to be on hand during the day.
Ambani owns much of Reliance Industries. The company is known as an oil, retail and biotech conglomerate that has a lot of power in India. The company is reportedly worth as much as $18 billion.
All of the materials used to make the building were purchased from local sources, stimulating the economy in the area. Ambani apparently has not listened to local leaders who have called for businessmen to become “role models of moderation.”
