Germany Australia World Cup 2010 : 4-0 – Germany was able to easily defeat Australia 4-0, in a match that many thought would be much closer by the end of it. They were unable to re-establish themselves after Germany jumped off to an early 2-0 lead, and appeared to have given up after a third goal was scored just after halftime.
The team appeared to be moping and tired in the final minutes of the match. Many were surprised to see Germany so easily handle Australia, and they have solidified themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the 2010 World Cup.
Even with injuries, the German team appears to be far superior to many of the expert estimates that were given at the beginning of the World Cup. Both Ghana and Germany were awarded 3 points a piece for the victories, while Australia and Serbia received no points for their losses.
