Mortal Kombat Movie? – Mortal Kombat has not been all that successful as a movie franchise. The game, which is known for its hardcore guts and gore, never really translated that wildness to the big screen as many fans hoped they would. On the contrary, the first Mortal Kombat movie was pretty tame compared to the great visuals in the game. Now, a short 7 minute film set in the Mortal Kombat universe made its way online, and quickly spread across the Internet. The response for the video has been amazing, and has left many wondering exactly what the footage will be used for.
A Mortal Kombat reboot has been in the works for quite awhile, but has been held up because of legalities regarding the copyright. The mini movie was reportedly directed by Kevin Tancharoen, who is attempting to convince Warner Brothers to produce a Mortal Kombat movie with him. He probably did not have all that much sway in the beginning, but the popularity of his short movie will likely force the studio to head in that direction.
A number of famous characters show up int he short, including Jacks, Sonya Blade, Baraka, Scorpion, Johnny Cage and Reptile. There has been no confirmation that the movie will be happening, or when it will be happening if it ever does. However, the trailer has sparked a huge amount of interest from Mortal Kombat fans on the Internet.
