California Election Results 2010

California Election Results 2010 – From coast to coast, from California to Arkansas to South Carolina million of Americans went to the polls on Tuesday.
There were a dozen primaries that should help better define the electoral landscape of the country and shake things up for the upcoming general elections that will take place in mid-term in November. In the midst of oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, some of these elections was a test for couple of close allies of President Barack Obama.
In California, where former “Terminator” star Arnold Schwarzenegger will not be seeking reelection ,it was ladies night -the former CEO of eBay, Meg Whitman, easily won the Republican nomination in the state that is suffering due to the financial crisis.

64.2%-Meg Whitman
26.8%-Steve Poizner
2.2%-Larry Naritelli
1.6%-Robert Newman

Also in this State, another former business executive (Hewlett Packard), Carly Fiorina, who is the candidate representing the Conservative Party has won to right to try to steal Democrat Senator Barbara Boxer’s seat in November.

55.6%-Carly Fiorina
22.7%-Tom Campbell
18.8%-Chuck DeVore
1.9%-Al Ramirez

In a surprise twist Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas who was being challenged by her own Democrat base has won her race and will go on to face Republican congressman John Boozman in the Nov. 2 general election.
52.0%-Blanche Lincoln
48.0%-Bill Halter

Meanwhile in the South Carolina GOP primary for governor will have to continue for another two weeks after Nikki Haley narrowly lost her fight against her three fierce opponents.

48.9%-Nikki Haley
21.8%-Gresham Barrett
16.9%-Henry McMaster
12.4%-Andre Bauer

The runoff election is scheduled for June 22.
