Debrahlee Lorenzana Fired For Being Too Good Looking – Debrahlee Lorenzana is cuing Citibank for terminating her because she was a distraction to the male workers in the building because of her shapely figure and good looks. She has recently been making rounds on a number of different radio and television programs in hopes that she will be able to draw attention toward her lawsuit with the company, which is denying the claims that she has made. She has also said that speaking up makes her fear that she will lose her new job as well.
She was wearing a sleeveless black dress when she appeared on “The Early Show” on CBS. She went over a few different occasions during her time at the company when she had been asked to wear clothes that other female employees at the workplace were not required to wear. She said that they repeatedly told her that she was a distraction to her male co-workers, and then she was let go.
She even said that the company did not allow her to wear “turtlenecks”, even though they are considered to be business attire and do not show any skin at all. He fired her for wearing outfits that wearing outfits that got in the way during the work day, but the company has said that her firing was completely performance related.
“I was in shock,” she said. “I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.”
Her Current employer, JP Morgan Chase is reportedly not pleased with the lawsuit, and has threatened to can her for a number of comments that she made to the press that violated their code of conduct.
Citigroup has released the following statement on the matter:
“Ms. Lorenzana has chosen to make numerous unfounded accusations and inaccurate statements against Citibank and several of our employees. While we will not discuss the details of her case, we can say that her termination was solely performance-based and not at all related to her appearance or attire. We are confident that when all of the facts and documentation are presented, the claim will be dismissed.”
