Obama Oil Spill Anger – President Barack Obama is reportedly upset with the way that the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has been handled, understandably. He recently talked with Larry King of CNN, and stated that he was furious about the oil spill, but also said that it is his job to fix the situation instead of flying off and yelling at people. The interview was conducted as a White House interview for the 25th anniversary of Larry Kings show. Despite all of the mistakes and screw ups that have come and gone throughout the entire ordeal, an oil spill that has become the worst in the history of the nation, Obama said he still considered himself to have the “best job on earth”.
He went on to say that it was a privilege to wake up every day knowing that he can serve the American people in the highest order. When he was questioned about his feelings on the oil spill situation, he said that he felt that certain individuals did not look at the consequences of their actions, and the things that could potentially happen as a result. Obama went on to say that he would like to see a more rapid response if a similar situation ever occurs.
Obama said it was his job to ensure that BP was held accountable, as, under federal law, they are the ones at fault. The interview also covers a number of different topics including the topic of immigration. In the wide ranging interview that will be broadcast around the world on Thursday night, Obama will give US citizens many of the answers that they have been looking for.
He went on to say that the explosion that killed eleven people so far is a “tragic situation.” It appears that Obama is willing to own up to his own role in the disaster, but would also like to hold the faulting parties accountable.
