Krispy Kreme Locations:National Doughnut (Donut) Day 2010 – Famed donut company Krispy Kreme will be offering a free donut on National Donut Day. You can expect most local shops to be taking part in the festivities, but only participating outlets will be taking part in National Donut Day on June 4. The company celebrates this holiday by offering freebies on a yearly basis on the holiday. You may want to call ahead to locations in your area to see if they are taking part in the freebie Nation Donut day.
Dunkin Donuts will also be offering a free donut on the same day, so if you have a Dunkin’ Donuts location that is closer to you, you may want to give them a call as well. However, Dunkin’ Donuts will be requiring that customers buy a beverage before receiving the donut.
Dunkin Donuts will also be revealing the winner of this year’s Create Dunkin’s Next Donut Contest. The contest is held every year, and the race has been fairly close this year. Two donuts currently have 13% of the total vote on their website. There were a dozen finalists that were chosen for the competion.
The holiday first started in 1938 as a fund raiser for the Salvation Army. It has sense grown into a nation wide sensation with donut shops across the country taking part by offering a free donut on the holiday.
