James Cameron Oil Spill Cleanup Advice To Feds – A number of celebrities have stepped up to help the country deal with the recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Kevin Costner recently had a piece of technology he invested in nearly 20 years ago on the heels of the Exxon Valdez oil spill used in a series of tests to check the validity of the product. James Cameron , the director of Titanic and Avatar, is also being called in to help where he is able to. Scientists and other experts joined together to brainstorm possible fixes for the current oil spill problem.
Cameron, an Oscar winner, 55, is an ocean technology buff. He has become an expert in underwater filming through his work in various different movies over the course of his career. He used a number of submersible vehicles both on the set of Titanic, and on the set of The Abyss in the 1980s. Results from the meeting have not been released to the public, but officials did say that they were considering all options including using manned submerisble vehicles to cap the leak. This is likely where Cameron was of the most use.
“It’s about looking at all the what if’s, if it fails, if that fails, what happens,” said Nuytco chief pilot Jeff Heaton.
Cameron reportedly contacted BP and offered the use of his underwater vehicles that he has owned since he shot Titanic in the 1990′s.It is not clear if BP accepted his offer, but regardless, the offer is indeed out there.

Why es implosion of the well not a valid option?
President Obama the crude oil is toxic, and anyone who cleans the oily Gulf beaches needs to know the danger. Don’t allow the workers to become BP’s Collateral Damaged, like Exxon.
Article from Las Vegas Review Journal:
The workers who are cleaning up the oil in the Gulf need to be aware of the chemicals that will be used. I am one of the 11,000+ cleanup workers from the Exxon Valdez oil spill (EVOS), who is suffering from health issues from that toxic cleanup, without compensation from Exxon.
My name is Merle Savage; a female general foreman during the Exxon Valdez oil spill (EVOS) beach cleanup in 1989, which turned into 21 years of extensive health deterioration for me, and many other workers. Dr. Riki Ott visited me in 2007 to explain about the toxic spraying on the beaches. She also informed me that Exxon’s medical records and the reports that surfaced in litigation by sick workers in 1994, had been sealed from the public, making it impossible to hold Exxon responsible for their actions.
Exxon developed the toxic spraying; OSHA, the Coast Guard, and the state of Alaska authorized the procedure; VECO and other Exxon contractors implemented it. Beach crews breathed in crude oil that splashed off the rocks and into the air — the toxic exposure turned into chronic breathing conditions and central nervous system problems, along with other massive health issues. Some of the illnesses include neurological impairment, chronic respiratory disease, leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, liver damage, and blood disease.
My web site is devoted to searching for EVOS cleanup workers who were exposed to the toxic spraying, and are suffering from the same illnesses that I have. Our summer employment turned into a death sentence for many — and a life of unending medical conditions for the rest of us –

Rest assured BP has gathered the best and the brightest to get the well capped. Rest assured the other two relief wells being drilled have the best in their class doing these jobs. All ideas are being considered and the job is being done as quickly as possible. The remediation effort is a Government task whereby BP should be playing a support role – as they are! One must split the issue into the two parts – capping the well and healing the damage. THEY AREN’T THE SAME THING. Let BP handle the former, and the Feds the latter.
I am truly frightened by the network talking heads’ hysteria, which makes one wonder if they are just there for entertainment purposes. They need a drilling expert to calm the nerves and to explain things in a rational manner.
Remember folks, in World War II over 10,000,000 bbls.of oil went down around the world. And we and the planet survived it all without giving it a thought…
