Lost Ending:How Did Lost Finale End? – Lost fans will have a lot to look forward to tonight, the night that the series finale airs. The show had captured the minds and hearts of many, and now it appears that it will be coming to an end here soon. The show will be placed between two specials. The first special will be a recap episode that will be two hours long. The recap episode will be followed by the actual finale, which will run two and a half hours. Following the finale, the cast members will be appearing on a special episode of Jimmy Kimmel to wrap up the series and send it off in a special way.
The recap episode will begin at 7PM/6C and will go over all of the things that have happened on the island throughout the series. Many have wondered how they will be able to properly wrap up the story in two and a half hours with so many questions still left to be answered. The 2 hour recap will help by going over all of the plot points to help watchers remember all of the relevant things they need to know to watch the finale.
The actual finale will run from 9 to 11:30, the longest Lost episode that has ever been shown. Several cast members will also be featured on the recap that will play before the show, detailing some of their favorite moments on the set of Lost. The finale is titled “The End,” and will be the last Lost any of the fans will ever get to see, as the producers have already confirmed that there will be no spin offs and no movies after the finale is over.
On the special Jimmy Kimmel show, he will be showing three alternate endings that were not used for the series. The finale will also be appearing on Comcast On Demand.
Update:
The finale was a poetic way and emotional way to end the series.
We learned the following things in the finale:
-The characters lived on the island after the plane crash and moved on the to L.A. where they eventually met in a church and went up in heaven.
-Jack was the last one to die and let go.
-All of the characters minus Michael and Walt made to heaven.

that’s not how it happened.
As Christian Shepherd plainly stated right to us, everything on the island actually happened. The island was not purgatory and everyone did not die in the plane crash.
After everyone died (whenever that was, season 1 for boone, the finale for jack) they went to the alt timeline we had been seeing, to live the life they had hoped and wanted for. It was almost like a waiting room to move on after death. Once they were ready, and found the connection to the other survivors, the people who shaped their lives and made them what they were, they were ready to move on.
jim your silly, you pretty much described a version of purgatory!
You must really not be paying attention.
Jim’s point, and a correct one at that; is that “THE ISLAND WASN’T PRGATORY.”
The “sideverse” we’ve been seing all season has been “purgatory-like,” but the island actually happened in the real world, the true source of which we were
never really told. So, we still don’t have an explanation for all the craziness and wonder of the island, unless “accross the sea’ was enough of an explanation for you. If you’re going to correct someone, at least be right.
well what jim said was purgatory but the island was not purgatory the island was real and then when they died all at their separate times they went to a purgatory that they created with the bomb so that they could all find themselves and move on to the next life what ever that might be
But Kate, Sawyer, Miles, Claire, Frank and Richard didn’t die. They left the island. Hurley and Ben survived too but we saw them all in the heaven bit.
Sam,
Christian S. told Jack S. that everyone died either before or after Jack died. I believe this “sideways” was from Jack’s point of view sort of like what if the plane hadn’t crashed, remember he was bleeding from the neck (this is from where Flocke and he were fighting on the island) when he made it through the turbulence and Rose tells him that “he can let go now”, it just took him a while to accept that he died. He watches that on the plane are Lapidus, Sawyer, Kate, Miles, Richard (who is now mortal)and Claire made it off the Island. Bernarad, Rose, Hurley and Ben stayed behind but eventually died too. I guess Ben, went back to let Alex and Danielle have their memory recalled so that he could accept that they died and move on with his family. They all eventually died.
Charlotte and Daniel were not people of faith, so that is why they were not in the church. It is all left to interpretation but that is mine. : )
Christian walks on and everyone looks on because soon they too will take that walk into “Heaven” once they were ready.
Ryan… it was the flash-sideways that was in all of season 6 that was purgatory. Not the island.
The Sideways world was an afterlife (not purgatory). More like what many think heaven is like only you do not realize it. Everyone gets to be with the ones they love.
They survived the plane crash.
The Island was real even some got off.
What the Island actually is was never clearly explained.
Great that on the series finale they got away with not having to explain the island and they only explained the sideways world which didn’t exist before this year.
Pretty clever.
okay..lets make it clear,
No one said that Jack was he Last one to die he was just the last one to except that he was actually dead and he might of had to wait for Kate to really do so
1) Christian Shepard said that ome peoples time was different some before some after
2) The Island did happen and George was “Jacob” but we do not know how long, nor do we know if the island “needed” protection once the threats that knew of the islands power were all gone ( Charles Whitmore, Dharma and of Course the Smoke)
3) The sideways once the alternate place for them to move on together as a group that they wanted to move on as b/c of everything the island had meant for them, SO WHEN JULIET SAID TO SAWYER “IT WORKED” she was in her sideway life, and an altertnate life had been created for them via the bomb explosion
4)Walt was not dead..he was smuggled of the island a long time ago and lives with his grandmother as we all know when Locke went to see him
5) Ben killed Locke..he wanted forgivness, he loved the island was given an invation in to the “meeting” for we do not know how long he worked as Hurleys number 2 and he couldd of founf redemption thru Hurleys eyes as there last conversation was ” You were a great number 1″ and “you were a great number 2″ IMPLYING they had some time together afterwards
6)richard, and Pilot and iles were not in the room..they might still be alive or their most important part of Life was not the island life
7) We Do not know when Claire or Kate or Sawyer passed away, what we do know is that as a Group they created that side way life once they did die do all go to the next chapter togthewhich would explain why Juliet and Jack have “son” that is about 13 yrs old, they could of been waiting for Sawyer and Kate all that time and try to connect with each other as they waited in this sideway after death life
9) Iliked how it ended, it shows how people can bond toghter thru tragdey and wait for each other in the afterlife before they move on, I dont think its a coincidence that Juliet and Jack and Charlie were the last to know and find there true loves b/c I think they had to wait for their love matches to die being those 3 were on the plane that left
10) they all returned to there “bodies” in the flash sideways which was right for them, Sun being pregnant with Jin, Claire still giving birth to Aaron to have their family unit and so forth.Maybe that was the islands gift to them since they all protected the island and some of them loved it their gift was that final reconnection before the next chapter
So the dog is GOD then !!!!!
They did explain what the island was. If you remember Jacob told them it was like a plug to keep the bad in……. that’s good enough for me. I am happy with the ending and feel that enough was expalned and enough left to the thoughts of the viewer. The writers coudn’t possibly have explained every little detail. The whole point of the show was that it made you think. Jo sums it all up pretty well I htink as that is exactly what I thought too.
just wondering what was the whole thing about aaron and kate living in the city or what not and then her going back to save her?? she went back to the island to get claire..were they dead then??
also in 3rd season or 4th they spun this wheel thing which made time go back and forth what was that about?
what is dharma initiative how did they get there?
show was epic early on…bull shit thru the rest of the season… its kinda liek the trip u have on a plane where they play movies adn you just watch them because…..they’re entertaining not good not bad…but just entertainment..
