How To Train Your Dragon Box Office Domination – Children’s movies have done historically well at the box office. “How To Train Your Dragon” has been an immovable object at the top of the box office charts in America. In its fifth weekend in theatres, the movie was able to secure the top spot once again according to studio estimates that were released on Sunday. It is estimated that the movie has been able to earn over $15 million over the weekend, losing 23 percent since last weekend. The drop is considered to be relatively low, and most movies see a much more significant drop.
“The Back-Up Plan” finished in second place over the weekend, and was able to earn $12.3 million. “The Losers” finished at No. 4 in their opening weekend, and fell just short of many expectations, only bringing in $9.6 million.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be no. 1 in the fifth week,” stated Anne Glove, who is the head of the worldwide marketing team for DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc, the studio that recently released the popular “How to Train Your Dragon.” “The Break Up” is the first appearance that Jennifer Lopez has made in a film since 2006, however, the film has not been met by rave reviews from critics, some of whom have called Lopez’s performance “bland” and “overacted.”
The weekend as a whole was able to pull in just under $100 million, falling short of many estimates by experts. This was the lowest recorded total of the year according to Paul Dergarabedian, who is the president of a tracking firm for Hollywood.com’s Box Office.
