Taylor Swift 2010 ACM Awards Snub – Everyone has been a bit shocked that Taylor Swift wasn’t able to come home with an award at the ACM this year. Despite all of her efforts and achievements as a singer it seems like she was skunked at the 2010 ACM Awards. She won plenty at the Grammys including album of the year and the Country Music Awards where she won entertainer of the year as well as the best female vocalist.
However, she lost all four of her nominations at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Well it has left people wondering exactly how could this happen. Swift lost entertainer of the year to Carrie Underwood, someone who might deserve the position but wasn’t as expected to win as Taylor. Female vocalist of the year as well as video of the year both went to Miranda Lambert and song of the year went to Lady Antebellum. Both of which Taylor tried exceptionally hard for by producing great videos and songs to try and compete.
We don’t think that the ACM Award voters hate Taylor by any means but just that they felt the other competitors deserved the rewards more. Taylor’s CD known as “Fearless” won best album of the year last year for the awards and just two years ago she won best female vocalist. Perhaps the voters were just getting a bit worn out on her style and weren’t seeing enough creativity to award her. However, Carrie Underwood has been singing for many years so you can argue that she didn’t bring anything new to the table either. There are lots of people that think Taylor was well suited and deserved several awards at the ACM and it’s true that we wont know exactly why she didn’t win them in the first place but she can always try harder for next year.
I guess her fans didn’t turn up, or the ACM voters decided to mark her low because they thought her fans would’ve definitely given her the edge. I dunno why ppl voted for Carrie – how is she entertaining? Just stands in one place and makes faces.
Try harder? Fearless has been the best selling album for two years and she ‘should try harder’??? ARE YOU CRAZY? It was rigged. Not watching ACMs next year unless she’s performing again. But everyone knows the one that matters is the CMAs, and she took every single award she was up for last year.

Taylor deserve EOTY, she might not be a great Vocalist but she is a great entertainer/performer and Video of the year should have gone to either taylor or carrie. Carrie does not deserve EOTY, yes she has a great voice but she is not an entertainer. It sad to see that ACM voters gave award based on BIASness!!
All you guys that are saying Taylor DID deserve it or Carrie DIDN’T deserve it, you all do realize that the EOTY was Fan Voted, right??? So, you might not like the outcome but you can’t say it wasn’t deserved because Carrie’s fans showed up to vote and Taylor’s didn’t… That’s how it goes!!!
i am swifted right out she can’t sing she is not country nothing country about her.carrie will be around long after the swifter is gone.
EOTY should NOT be based on just what they do in concert. Carrie definetely deserved the award because of everything she did within the past year. She had a new album, hosted her own holiday special, and many more. And it is better to be a great vocalist then just running around and throwing your hair everywhere. The ACMs are not rigged, it is what other people have said, and many may think that Taylor is not country, but more pop. Another thing, the EOTY was based off of the fans, so it is not off of biasness, it is simply that the fans did not pull through for taylor.
A most enjoyable show! Country Music was resuscitated Sunday night with the huge wins by Lady A, Miranda Lambert,and history making Miss Carrie Underwood. And that is a Good Thing!
I was extremely happy that Taylor was shut out. She can’t sing! She’s out of tune all the time and I cringe when she comes in the radio. All of her songs sound alike! If anything… She may be able to put on a great show (aside from all the hair shaking). But a vocalist, she us not, and therefore her albums stink.
I’m surprised she has gotten the awards she’s been given. I’m glad the ACM finally gave awards to the people who deserved to win!!
Taylor was/is just a fad, that’s the only thing that can explain her rise in popularity without having a good voice. She was very young and kinda cute (I guess) when she became famous and she attracted a lot of very young fans but at that age fans are very fickle and will switch favorites on a dime. I believe Taylor still has her loyal fan base but a lot of fans have peeled off and moved on to other celebrities. Without having a particularly good voice, I don’t expect her to keep winning awards, especially in Country Music…
the acm’s are rigged miranda won 3 awards she has not won 3 awards her hole carrer the acm’s are trying to make a point and give to peoople they want to give to not the best they should show the results of the event and i bet they are rigged.
I have seen each and everyone of the nominees in concert and I think the most under rated performer is Toby Keith, he deserves EOTY he is a great performer, his concerts kick ass! Plus he also goes overseas to entertain our troops more than anyone else. Talk about being snubbed year after year!
EOTY was Fan Voted, Toby Keith might be your favorite but he didn’t have enough fans that agreed with you…. I’m not running Toby down, I’m just saying that if your favorite singer didn’t win this year, blame the Fans, not the ACM’s…
People! The word is BIAS, not biasness. Pro-Taylor Swift fans, you say there was anti-bias towards your poor Taylor Swift at the ACM. How about we turn the tables and say there was a bias towards Taylor at the Grammys. Face it, it’s the industry. It’s subjective. It’s never ever been objective.

these were the /2010/ acm awards. Carrie Underwood just put out her new album “Play On” not too long ago; more suited towards a /2010/ award show than a 2 year old album…
although taylor swift is my absolute favourite singer, i agree that she should stop winning awards for her album that was released like 2 years ago, and let other people win awards, as they too have worked hard to release wonderful albums
the only award she was up for that was fan voted was entertainer in the year, so you can only blame that one on the fans ;P
The problem that i have with taylor is that like 70% of her audience are 15 and younger and i am sorry most 15 year olds don’t know what good music is.I am happy that she is having all the success that she is but in 5 years, 6 years tops we wont here about her anymore.
