China Earthquake

China Earthquake – Earthquakes are becoming one of the biggest fears in today’s world and China is seeing the harsh realities of their power. Just recently there has been a drawn out series of huge earthquakes that have struck the country and devastated millions of people. The largest of the quakes was a powerful 6.9 on the scale which has left buildings crumbled and many people injured. Luckily, most of the quakes hit at a remote area of China along the southwestern side of the country but the earthquake still manage to kill hundreds and injure thousands of others. Over 400 people have been reported as dead already and there could easily be as many as eight thousand or even ten thousand others who are injured. Severally going to impact the country in these area, the Chinese are looking for answers for such a catastrophe.
The Chinese government has already set in place rescue efforts in order to help those that are injured and recover the bodies of those who were less fortunate and have passed on. The remote areas where the quake struck are a bit hard to reach, but the Chinese government are working to mobilize forces in those areas as quickly as possible. Yushu and Qinghai were hit the hardest from the earthquake. The population of Yushu is estimated to be around 250,000 people and mostly populated by ethnic Tibetans, meaning the majority of the population is herders and farmers and there is not much city life to the areas. Karsum Nyima told reporters on a television channel that the impact had been nothing but devastating. “The houses went down in a flash” is what he said. “Everybody is out on the streets, standing in front of their houses, trying to find their families.”
