French Quarter Festival 2010 – Today is the opening for the French Quarter Festival and it seems that they have kicked the show off with plenty of free music for everyone. Probably the reason that so many have come to the opening in the first place, I don’t think that they are disappointing anyone with this decision. The French Quarter Festival comes around in the Spring and you can be sure that the good time are here to last as it fills the street with lots of music and tons of food.
The 27th French Quarter Festival is an attraction that not very many people can stay away from. It started today and will continue until Sunday.
There will be a huge parade with over 150 acts from the South Louisiana music production group which will light up over 18 different stages throughout the festival. With several hundred thousand people showing up to the festival you can be sure that there will be both locals in the mix as well as national tourists who are coming to have a good time while their on vacation or possibly traveling. It is the largest free festival in the south and you should definitely go and enjoy everything that it has to offer. You can get in for free and most of the entertainment is free as well.
It used to be that they would mainly only play Jazz music at the festival. Since then they have changed their standards and now you will be able to find all different genres and variations of music mainly from local bands and singers who have agreed to perform. with free admission don’t expect anything too spectacular or any of todays biggest stars to be attending, but do expect to enjoy yourself and have a good time.
