Masters 2010 – Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are two golfers who have managed to wear the green jacket several times a piece in the last decade. They are also the two favorites to win the Masters this year in Augusta. Woods, who is currently the 9 to 2 favorite to win the tournament, will also be followed by cameras and fans who would like to see how he is able to rebound from his recent personal problems. While Tiger has been reportedly solid during practice sessions, he hasn’t played in a tournament in over six months and will likely have some rust to shake off before he really gets into the swing of things during this Master’s tournament. If Woods wins, it will be because he was able to face huge physical and mental barriers to solidify his spot as perhaps the greatest golfer of all time.
The problems that Tiger Woods has faced do not seem to affect the way Phil Mickelson approaches facing him. When asked if he believed Tiger could win the tournament, Phil proceeded to ask them if they were crazy, and said that he has already shown the world that he can win under much worse conditions, referring to his performance at the ’08 Masters. “I played with him the first couple of rounds and he was not physically at his best obviously and his game was not the sharpest and yet he still wins. He finds a away to get it done.”
This years Master’s is expected to be the most watched Master’s in years. The media attention surrounding the event can only be described as a “swarm,” with cameramen waiting at every entrance, exit and gate exiting the club at Augusta.
