Bullying Progress

April 6, 2010 by · 2 Comments

Bullying Progress – If you’ve heard of the tragic story about the 15 year old Phoebe Prince who was tormented throughout High School which ultimately led to her suicide, then you know how serious bullying can be. Bullying is not just something that goes under the radar and does not need to be addressed. It isn’t something that is natural for kids growing up and the students who get the worst of it need to hold out, stay strong, and face reality that they will have to deal with this until they are out of school. It is not right, kids are ganging up with each other and seriously harassing other students making them feel absolutely horrible about themselves.

No one is there telling them that things will get better. They don’t understand that they won’t have to deal with this anymore once they get out of school and never see this people again. Phoebe Prince is a harsh reality of what can happen if you do not address these concerns like you should. Kids are dangerous, the talk they do about one another is dangerous, it’s hurting children all across the world and things like this happen all the time. My heart sincerely goes out to Phoebe Prince and I am sorry that the School wasn’t able to recognize the problem and help.

Things are moving incredibly slow about fixing the issues in school with bullying. It seems that Phoebe Prince’s death hasn’t sparked enough change in the schools like we had hoped for and expected. Do we have to see more of these cases for something to actually be done? I would hope not and the situation should have been addressed even before Phoebe. Massachusetts is undergoing a number of trials for laws to be set in place toward bullying prevention. It seems that no investigations, no charges, nothing is being done to help the victims of suicide. Things are moving terribly slow for bullying progress.
