Pope Saint-Making Miracle Questioned

April 4, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Pope Saint-Making Miracle Questioned – The Pope John Paul II’s death was marked last week. The first case of a miracle was described when a French nun, Sister Marie Simon-Pierre once fit and healthy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Just two months after his death, the nun woke up completely cured, with no trace of Parkinson’s disease to be found anywhere – as if it never existed.

Of course, medical professionals have suggested that this is not necessarily a miracle – but why? Well, the fact is that the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease could return at any time, destroying the belief that this was in fact a miracle.

One other suggestion is that the nun did not even have the disease to start with. According to medical professionals, there are plenty of different explanations as to what happened. For example, it might be that the nun had some other disease that has similar symptoms to Parkinson’s disease, yet it can be cured over time and instead of being instantly cured, she was healed over time.

The more this subject is talked about, the more it seems to play on people’s mind that it could just be a mixture of coincidence and luck that the nun was cured. Of course, the more medical professionals that shed their doubt on this subject, the more likely people are going to stop believing in what was originally told.

The reality is, these are just thoughts that are floating round, and possibly quite valid thoughts as well. In general, if something is not proven, not many people will believe it.
