Jeff Anderson On Sexual Abuse – For years there has been controversy surrounding the fact that sex abuse by priests still exists. The reality is that cases are still appearing on a daily basis, and they need to be stopped in their tracks, before they do any more harm.
Jeff Anderson is a lawyer who in his career has filed thousands of law suits against churches and their priests over the years. The law suits are obviously related to sex abuse and he has managed to create millions of dollars for his clients.
It all started in 1983, when Jeff and five other attorneys joined together to take on Catholic priests, bishops, and dioceses over alleged sex attacks. Although the exact value of settlements is not printed in black and white, back in 2002 it was said to be around the $60 million mark, so not exactly pocket change! That being said, Jeff assures everyone that “It’s not about the money,”.
Anderson himself feels emotional connected with his victims and definitely emphasizes with them. The way he works means that he does not just focus on priests that are striking in the U.S. but overseas as well. He realizes that if there is a problem here, then there is a problem elsewhere as well.
What he believes is that this problem stems from somewhere. It is such a big issue, that somewhere along the line; this sort of behavior must have been classed as acceptable for it to get to this sort of scale. He feels that it could have possibly originated from Rome itself.
