22nd Arab Summit Kicks Off

22nd Arab Summit Kicks Off – The 22nd Arab Summit kicked off on the 27th of March. It has also been called the “Jerusalem Summit”, and was held in the Libyan city of Sirte. The city has a rich history, and has been involved in some of the most important moments of the regions history. The summit is held to discuss the regions most major issues, issues that have landed many in hot water in recent years. They will also be discussing protecting East Jerusalem from Israeli invasion and other crimes against the people of that region. Peace keeping with the Israeli’s has long been a problem for the region, and many who live in the region have become increasingly aggravated in recent years when they saw much of their land that they connect with their religion disappearing to the state of Israel. Violence there has been harsh in recent months, and many have speculated that there could be a full blown war in the near future if the situation does not turn for the better.

The summit gathered leaders from a number of different nations including Libya, Syria, Palestine and Sudan. There are also a number of other leaders who are attending the summit as well. Other officials and representatives will also be attending the summit for countries who are not located in the region, but are looking to help them end the violence before it gets any more out of hand. International efforts have been at a minimum in recent years, but with the focus shifting back toward the reason, many have called for international intervention before war breaks out in the region and many more lives are lost as a result. Presidents that attended the summit have not yet commented on the proceedings, but many issues are still being discussed, and many more deals will hopefully be made before the summit comes to a close.
